PURPOSE:To obtain a cosmetic, having skin beautifying and adjusting action based on wound curing promoting effects as well as excellent feeling of used and stability, by blending rosmarinic acid and/or salt thereof. CONSTITUTION:A cosmetic, obtained by blending rosmarinic acid, expressed by the formula and obtained by extracting a plant of the family Labiatae, preferably Rosmarinus officinalis L. (rosemary), Perilla frutescens Britton var. acuta Kudo, Perilla frutescens Britton var. crispa Decaisne f. viridi-crispa Makino, Agastache rugosa O. Kuntze, Isodon japonicus Hara, etc., particularly Rosmarinus officinalis L. or Perilla frutescens Britton var. crispa Decaisne f. viridi-crispa Makino and/or a salt thereof as an active ingredient in an amount of 0.005-5wt%, particularly 0.1-3wt% based on the total weight of the cosmetic and preferably further adding a water-soluble high polymer substance, e.g. polypeptide, soluble collagen, mucopolysaccharides, etc. and having the above-mentioned effects. Furthermore, the afore-mentioned active ingredient has also hair tonic effects in addition to the above-mentioned effects when using as a hair cosmetic. |
