PURPOSE:To obtain a rubber composition having remarkably improved mechanical strength, by blending a highly saturated rubber with a highly unsaturated rubber at a specific ratio, and vulcanizing the blend rubber by dynamic vulcanization. CONSTITUTION:(A) 20-80pts.(wt.) of a highly saturated rubber (e.g. ethylene- propylene copolymer rubber) is compounded with (B) 80-20pts. of a highly unsaturated diene rubber (e.g. natural rubber, isoprene rubber, etc.) and (C) a vulcanizing agent, and the mixture is kneaded and subjected to the dynamic vulcanization in a manner to give a vulcanized composition containing <=10wt% component A extractable with a solvent at room temperature and >=90wt% component B extractable with a solvent at room temperature. |
