Engine in which the upper surface of the block and the opposite face of the cylinder head are given circumferential recesses fitted with bearings in regions which face two pistons or cylinders of the engine, between which facing bearings are placed, in a rotatable manner, individual coplanar valves equipped in their perimeter zone with toothed shapings which interact in the meshing thereof, one of the valves receiving the rotation of a pinion which in turn receives the movement of the crankshaft via the toothed belt. Each valve is given two apertures, an inlet aperture and an exhaust aperture, these being connected both in rotation and in the situation of the apertures with the displacements of the corresponding pistons of the engine. <IMAGE>
