<p>PURPOSE:To prevent over-discharge of a battery by stopping operation control of a starter when the number of operation times due to failure of the starter exceeds the prescribed number of times of engine start. CONSTITUTION:An automatic starting and stopping control means 4 inputs respective signals from various sensors such as a water temperature sensor 36, and when an engine fails to start after a starter 8 is operated from an engine stopping condition and a starting operation judging condition, operation control of the starter 8 is stopped when the number of operation times of the starter 8 exceeds the prescribed number of times (for example, three times) before a battery 12 discharges electricity completely. That is, when operation control is carried out on the starter 8 by a single program, and operation of the starter 8 is stopped when the number of operation times of the starter becomes the prescribed number of times being an upper limit value. Thereby, since the upper limit value of the number of operation times of the starter 8 is adjusted properly regardless of a hot or cold season, over-discharge of the battery 12 can be prevented effectively.</p> |
