PURPOSE:To effectively protect converging optical parts from molten metal scattering at the time of working. CONSTITUTION:By a shielding device 20 provided between a condensing lens 12 and a work 13, a shield plate 20c is moved back and forth in an arrow 30 direction in accordance with a command signal from a control device 10. In other words, the shield plate 20c is moved back and forth, passing a pulsed light 14 at the time of its irradiation from a laser generator 11, and shielding between the condensing lens 12 and the work 13 after the passing of the pulsed light 14 and before the irradiation of the next pulsed light 14. When the pulsed light 14 reaches the work 13 and the surface of the work 13 is heated to a high temp., a molten metal 15 begins to scatter from the surface; since the shield plate 20c is operated to shield between the condensing lens 12 and the work 13 by then, the scattered molten metal 15 is shielded by the shield plate 20c and unable to reach the condensing lens 12. Consequently, the condensing lens 12 is basically protected from being stained by the molten metal 15. |
