PURPOSE:To accurately detect defects at the end part of a steel tube by transmitting X-ray from an X-ray generating tube, projecting on a X-ray TV monitor through an antihalation device and thereby eliminating unclear image on the TV monitor display. CONSTITUTION:In continuously detecting tube end defects on a steel tube 1 provided with welding bead 2, the steel tube 1 is loaded on a travelling truck 3. From the inner surface of this steel tube 1, X-ray is transmitted by an X-ray generating tube 5 provided in the tip of the X-ray beam 4. The X-ray is transmitted through the welding bead part 2 and is radiographed through an antihalation device 6 by an image tube and an X-ray camera in an X-ray camera fixing table 7. The radiographing is projected as a bead image 10 on the display of an X-ray TV monitor 9 through a distribution cable 8. Also, the upper shield plate of the antihalation device 6 is formed in a stepped shape, and with the upper step and the lower step differentiated in the thickness of each passing hole, an image with the different penetrability of X-rays is produced. |
