<p>PURPOSE:To read the shape of a three-dimensional object as digital data which can be processed graphically by providing advancing and retreating probes which are retreated when they are pressed against an object and detecting the moving amounts of the probes, and then, replacing the ruggedness of a measuring area with picture data based on the moving amounts of the probe. CONSTITUTION:When a ruggedness sensor 10 is brought into contact with the surface of an object, the front ends of advancing and retreating probes 12 are pushed in accordance with the shape of the object and each probe 12 retreats in accordance with the external surface of the object. The retreating amounts of the probes 12 can be discriminated from the number of light intercepting line crossing times of light from a light emitting element arranged in accordance with the probes 12. The number of light intercepting line crossing times is measured and counted by means of a photoreceptor element and moving amount detecting device 20. The device 20 or a data processor 30 calculates the moving amounts of the probes 12 in accordance with the counted number of times. When the moving amounts are calculated, a picture data preparing section performs a picture preparing process based on the ruggedness of the object at each point and outputs the processed results to a picture displaying device as a three-dimensional picture.</p> |
