PURPOSE:To dye a cotton fiber in various colors and color tones without using synthetic dye by treating a cotton fiber with an enzyme. CONSTITUTION:Cotton fiber such as raw cotton having greenish yellow color or brown color is immersed in a solution containing an oxidation-reduction enzyme such as peroxidase, polyphenol oxidase or bilirubin oxidase at room temperature to easily dye the fiber in various colors without causing the problems of the conventional dyeing process using synthetic dyes, e.g. problems of waste liquid treatment and industrial hygiene. |
