PURPOSE:To obtain preservability reducing the color erasure of a printing part by providing an overcoat layer containing a water-soluble polymeric compd. and pigment on a thermal recording layer wherein a water-soluble polymeric compd. is compounded with latex containing a starch/polyvinyl acetace graft copolymer and a partially saponified substance thereof and polyvinyl alcohol with a specific saponification value. CONSTITUTION:A starch/polyvinyl acetate graft copolymer and a partially saponified substance thereof and polyvinyl alcohol with a saponification value of 90mol% or more are added as carboxy modified styrene/butadiene copolymer latex and a water-soluble compd. reacting with at least one electron donating color forming dye under heating. 10-150 pts.wt. of the water-soluble polymeric compd. is compounded with 100 pts.wt. of the latex. An overcoat layer containing the water-soluble polymeric compd. and pigment is further provided on a thermal recording layer. By this constitution, a thermal recording material excellent in preservability upon the contact with oil or a plasticizer is obtained. |
