<p>PURPOSE:To obtain an image with high quality by providing the starting position of a latent image forming action, the position of an image carrier on which a toner image is formed and the carrying reference position of a recording medium on which the toner image is transferred on the identical side of a device main body. CONSTITUTION:One side of the recording medium carried by a carrying roller 10b is carried while being pressed to a carrying-guide reference surface 31 provided on a frame. A cartridge reference surface 33 projecting inside near a groove hole part 7a1 is provided at the guide part 7a of the frame. The cylindrical projections 7c1 and 7c2 of a process cartridge B fall in the hole part 7a1, so that a photosensitive drum 2 is positioned in a back-and-forth direction, and the drum 2 is positioned in a right-and-left direction because the side surface of the frame body abuts on the reference surface 33 when the image is formed. Besides, a scanning start reference X1 is set on the identical side where the reference surface 31 and the reference surface 33 are provided with respect to the image forming range G of the longitudinal direction of the drum 2. Then, scanning is executed toward a reference X2 from the reference X1.</p> |
