PURPOSE:To obtain a display device capable of brightly projecting formed image information by a liquid crystal light valve on a specified surface with the small loss of light quantity, and a projecting device using it. CONSTITUTION:In the display device provided with the light valve 45 which displays the image information by arraying plural picture elements in a matrix state, changing the optical characteristics of plural picture elements according to a driving signal and optically modulating an incident luminous flux, and a 1st condensing means 44 where plural condensing members are opposingly arranged corresponding to the respective plural picture elements; the condensing member is set so that its focusing position may be within a range from 1.3 times to 2.5 times as long as a distance between the condensing means 44 and the light valve 45. |
