CONSTITUTION:In a tire vulcanizing press, a mold opening/closing mechanism made of a lifting cylinder is completely separated from a pressurizing mechanism composed of a pressurizing cylinder 9 related to the lifting cylinder and a fastening nut 11 opened/closed by an opening/closing cylinder, and the fastening nut 11 is raised by a spring 19. In this tire vulcanizing press, a pressurizing force P of the pressurizing cylinder 9 when the fastening nut 11 is lowered can be adjusted to high or low by a pressure control valve 24 provided in a hydraulic system. A spring force F is detected by a spring force sensor 20 provided in relation to the spring 19. In accordance with the change of the spring force F, the pressurizing force P of the hydraulic system is increasingly/ decreasingly adjusted. In this manner, the lowering force of the fastening nut 11 is always held constant, and the height of the fastening nut 11 is brought into coincidence with an optimum engaging position.
