MAGNETIC TONER AND ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC METHOD

PURPOSE:To provide a magnetic toner and an electrophotographic method using this magnetic toner by which a small-size high performance device and high picture quality are realized with a simple constitution. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic toner 7 is deposited and carried on a latent image holding body 1 having a magnet 2 inside. The toner is passed on an electrode roller 8 having a magnet 9 inside on which AC voltage is applied, then the toner remains only in the picture image part. In this electrophotographic method, the magnetic toner 7 consists of the toner base comprising a binder resin and magnetic material and an external additive. The saturation magnetization of the magnetic toner 7 in 10kOe magnetic field is 27.0-60.0emu/g. The specific surface area Sbm<2>/g, volume average particle size Dvmum, and specific gravity Hbg/cm<3> of the toner base satisfy the relation of 6<=SbXDvXHb<=30.
