<p>PURPOSE:To enhance the biological purification capacity of a waste water treating device without increasing the volume of the aeration tank packed with a biological contact filter medium to increase the surface area on which microorganisms are immobilized. CONSTITUTION:A biological contact filter medium 11 and an air diffuser are set in a tank to control the supply of raw water to an aeration tank, and a water sprinkler 12 is furnished above the filter medium. Microorganisms are immobilized on the filter medium, the drying of the filter medium is prevented by the sprinkler, and the microorganisms are immobilized during water sprinkling to form a biological membrane. Consequently, since the raw water is purified in the preceding stage to the aeration tank, the load of the aeration tank is reduced, and the capacity of the entire device is improved.</p> |
