PURPOSE:To form a foamed layer wherein foamable resin beads are sufficiently thermally fused even at the thin part of an instrument panel. CONSTITUTION:In producing an instrument panel, a skin 5 is arranged to the mold 15 of a molding device and a base material 2 is arranged to the molding part 35 thereof and foamable resin beads M are supplied to the gap 51 between the skin 5 and the base material 2 and, in this state, steam is supplied to the gap 51 from the window parts 8a, 8b of the base material 2 to thermally fuse the foamable resin beads M to form a foamed layer. The window parts 8a, 8b of the base material 2 are formed so that the distance L/2 up to the opening of each of air passing through-holes 36 with respect to the thickness (t) at each part of the gap 51 becomes 8 times or less. Therefore, heat is sufficiently applied to the foamable resin beads M even at the narrow part of the gap 51 by the steam from the window part 8 to form the foamed layer. |
