PURPOSE: To provide a therapy apparatus for locating, monitoring and treating a zone in the body of a life form with acoustic waves. CONSTITUTION: This therapy apparatus for locating and treating a zone in the body of a life form with acoustic waves has an acoustic wave generator 1 which focuses the waves to the zone to be treated. The apparatus also includes an ultrasonic locating system 9 which generates therapeutic waves having a first frequency, and is operated simultaneously with the generation of the therapeutic waves. The locating system emits diagnostic ultrasonic wave having a second frequency, receives parts of the diagnostic ultrasonic wave reflected in the body of the subject and converts them into electrical signals which are used to form an image of the zone to be treated.
