PURPOSE: To provide a method for making intracorporeal plastics suited for surgery needs from glass ionomer cement economically and correctly. CONSTITUTION: A method for making intracorporeal plastics molded into desired shape from glass ionomer cement comprises pressing a fluid cement material into a mold and solidifying therein using a thin-walled shell having no dimension stability as the mold. When cement material is pressed, the shell is supported by an outer stable mold. Preferably, the shell itself is used as the outer stable mold. The mold is made by a digital controlled molding machine in accordance with the data obtained from the section pictures processed by computer. The solidified plastics is put in the shell used as a wrap before implantation. The shell is preferably made of fluid unpermeable and unabsorbent material. |
