PURPOSE:To improve a traveling property, durable sliding characteristic and rust preventiveness by applying a lubricating layer mixing a first lubricant consisting of a specific compd. contg. (C3F6O)mC2F4 and a second lubricant of a specific formula on a magnetic layer formed on a nonmagnetic base body. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic tape is obtd. by depositing a magnetic film consisting of a Co-Ni alloy by evaporation on a polyethylene terephthalate film. The B-(C3F6O)mC2F4-A is then used as the first lubricant, where A is selected from among a carboxyl group, CH3, etc., and B from F, CF3, etc., and m is specified to 5 to 30. R is then selected from among <=2C alkylene, alkenylene, alkinylene, etc., and D from PO(OR4)2, -P(OR<4>)2, etc., as the compd. of the formula for the second lubricant. Further, R1 to R3 are selected from among CF3, CF5, etc. The mixture prepd. by mixing the first and second lubricants at 1 to (0.05 to 1.0) and mixing 0.5wt.% with 1 solvent is applied on the magnetic alloy film. As a result, the traveling property, durable sliding characteristic and rust preventiveness are improved. |
