PURPOSE:To provide a power transmission device of a ship propeller that is simplified of its structure in which water intake into a water pump has no special effect on other parts and is excellent in reliability. CONSTITUTION:This is a power transmission device to which rotational frequency of an engine 15 is transmitted to a pusher propeller to be situated in the rear of this engine, and it is provided with a first shaft 20 extending almost horizontally in the longitudinal direction of the hull and a second shaft 17B extending almost in the vertical direction, while it has a housing 14 where these first and second shafts are housed and in which two first bevel gears 25 and 26 installed in the first shaft and a second bevel gear 27 installed in the second shaft are engaged with each other, and further it is provided with a pump shaft 37 being rotated by the second bevel gear while to be extended in the opposite direction to the first shaft concentrically with this first shaft, and in this constitution, the pump shaft is projected outward from a bearing wall 36 pivotally supporting the pump shaft installed in this housing, installing a water pump 31 in an end of the pump shaft, and an intake pipe 39 of this water pump is extended toward the lower part of an engaging part of these bevel gears and it is connected to the intake port. |
