PURPOSE:To provide a line-of-sight detection device of a camera which detects the position and the movement of the eyeballs of a photographer and calibrates line-of-sight information by inexpensive and simple constitution. CONSTITUTION:Infrared light projected from an IRED 12 is reflected on the eyeballs 100 and a luminous flux is restricted by an eyepiece frame 16. Then, only an infrared light component is reflected on a dichroic mirror 11a and received by a PSD 15 through a light receiving lens 14. An iris, a sclera or the like exists in the light reflected from the eyeballs 100 of the photographer besides a Purkinje image and they act as a noise component with respect to the position of the centroid of the Purkinje image which should be detected when they arrive at the PSD 15. Then, the plural PSDs 15 are used so as to separate only a required area and selectively used. Besides, a gazing point is obtained not only by detecting the position of the eyes but also based on the movement of the position of the eyes. That means, calibration is executed by being adjusted to a display action in a finder in the midst of the operation of a photographing sequence. |
