PURPOSE:To reduce the influence of a camera shake, etc., by putting a driving means in operation on the basis of a redetection output when the difference between the up-to-date detection output of a focus detecting means and its last detection output is within a specific range. CONSTITUTION:A focus detection output is sent out of the focus detecting means repeatedly on the basis of the output of a photodetection part MLMC for focus detection, and the up-to-date detection output among focus detection outputs and its last detection output is calculated. If the focus detection output varies greatly owing to a camera shake, etc., and the detection output difference increases beyond a specific range, the up-to-date detection output is ignored and focus detection is carried out again to drive and control the photographic lens LE on the basis of the redetection output. Therefore, the driving of the lens LE based upon temporary wrong information on the camera shake, etc., is prevented. |
