<p>Both the tractor and the trailer are provided with brakes, the two vehicles being connected by a coupling beneath the overhanging end of the trailer. A first representation of the quota between the vertical forces occurring in the coupling when the vehicle combination is braked and those horizontal is determined in a first medium (33), and a second representation in a further medium (34). A control unit (32) adjusts the braking force acting on the trailer to a level that the difference between the first and second representations is minimised.</p> |
