The invention relates to a headlight for a motor vehicle, which has an adjustment screw for adjusting the direction in which the light exits. So that it is not necessary to provide a cover for the adjustment screw, which is accessible from the outside, it is proposed to arrange the adjustment screw on the housing of the headlight in such a way that it is arranged approximately centrally in a gap formed at the edge of the headlight. This gap can be formed between the headlight and an adjacent component of the vehicle's body, such as an adjacent headlight, or the headlight and the vehicle's body. In addition, the head of the adjustment screw is constructed as a hexagon socket in such a way that the size of an adjustment tool is smaller than the size of the gap formed at the edge of the headlight. As a result, the adjustment screw can be actuated through the gap. The head of the screw also has a conical edge as an insertion aid.
