The system, intended to equip milking parlours with a central channel, includes a device for holding sheep or goats in cascade which, via the screen 3, masks all the available feeders of the battery except the last one, the screen 3 successively freeing the feeders one by one as they are occupied by the flock, from the back wall towards the entrance by a movement related to the movement of the feed distributor 4 rapidly delivering the feed demanded by recognition of the animal gaining access to a free feeder, recognition performed by a commercially available device, and which simultaneously allows the milking personnel in the channel to arrange its teats without needing to use a winch to pull back the animals. <IMAGE>
