SHROUD FOR THE DRIVE SHAFT OF A WATERCRAFT

A shroud (1) is of aerofoil section to reduce cavitation and drag, has convex side faces which meet to form two edges (5 and 6). The trailing edge (5) is of V-section, and the leading edge (6) may be of V-section or rounded. The root end (7) of the shroud is angled to the shaft (2) and may have a mounting projection (12). The opposite end (8) generally tapers or diverges towards the propeller and may be formed in a screw configuration. Fins of screw configuration may also be included. A flow-directing fin (10) may project from the leading edge (6).
