PROCESS AND DEVICE FOR PRODUCING STEEL FIBRES

To reduce the production cost of steel fibres for fibre concrete by shredding steel strip it is proposed that, in order to obtain a longer length of fibre than the width of the steel strip, the cut, viewed in the plane of the steel strip, is made obliquely at a (cutting) angle of 15 DEG to under 90 DEG in the feed direction of the strip. The invention also relates to a device for implementing the process in which the cutting device (1) can pivot in relation to the feed device (4) about an axis which is perpendicular to the feed direction and the axis of rotation (5).
