The selective toxic agent for immobilising and/or killing lower human and animal pathogenic organisms, contains at least one hydrolytic enzyme and/or enzyme mixt. and a carrier substance. The pref. amt. of enzyme (mixt.) is 0.1-15 wt.% of the total wt. of the agent. The carrier substance is water or another pharmaceutically acceptable carrier which will not react with the enzymes. USE/ADVANTAGE - The agent can be used universally to control microoganisms and parasites, both ecto- and endo- which are pathogenic to humans and animals. The enzymes damage the cell membrane or the exoskeletons of the pathogens so badly that the glucosanine building blocks can no longer be chemically stabilised by incorporating nitrogen. The agents are free from harmful side effects and do not harm fertility. Their use need only be avoided in the first few weeks of pregnancy in the case of high fevers. The microorganisms and parasites have not yet shown signs of developing resistance to the enzyme
