The invention concerns a method of treating waste water containing organic and inorganic compounds, particularly waste water from the synthesis of epichlorohydrin. The invention calls for the waste water to be subjected to (a) an alkaline thermal treatment, (b) a biological treatment and, optionally, (c) an oxidative chemical treatment.
