This is an installation intended for informing the users of a bus network of the waiting times for the buses at the stops of the network, the installation comprising a central station able to transmit radio-frequency signals concerning the actual instantaneous positions of the buses, and portable receiver boxes (1), able to display the waiting times on screens (4), each box comprising memory means (8) in which permanent data are recorded, particularly relating to the topology of the network. The installation is configured in such a way that these permanent data can be updated remotely at night by radio-frequency correction signals (S) transmitted by the central station. <IMAGE>
