The invention relates to a vehicle roof which can be opened, with a panel which optionally opens and closes a roof opening in the fixed roof skin, and with a device for influencing the air flow in the region of the roof opening. Unlike known, pivotable or fixed wind deflectors provided on the front edge of the roof opening, provision is made, according to the invention, for a strip to be arranged parallel to the front edge of the roof opening and centrally in front of the latter, the length L of which strip is approximately 20% to 50% of the width B of the roof opening, and the distance of which from the roof opening is approximately 30 mm to 150 mm. In an advantageous further development, a strip of this type can be adjusted vertically by means of a drive engaging on its lower side, the adjustment preferably taking place as a function of the travelling speed and furthermore stopping as a function of the position of the panel.
