The invention relates to a process for producing a hollow article which is transparent, at least in subareas, has conical areas and has colour rings following one after the other in the axial direction in the conical area. To produce such an article in as simple a way as possible, it is proposed that first of all a blank with a conical area is produced from plastic, whereupon a surface of the conical area of the blank is subdivided into circular strips, running perpendicularly with respect to its axis, at desired intervals from one another in the axial direction, and the said strips are coloured in the desired way.
