In an apparatus for the releasable attachment of a cooled diode rectifier to a transformer, with the rectifiers consisting of diodes and cooling bodies assembled together to form a column and equipped with forced cooling to lead away the electrical heat loss, an approximately parallelepipedon shaped cooling body 2' or 2'' contacts both sides of the rectifier diodes 1 under pressure and is provided with a channel system 3 for a coolant liquid. Each second or alternate body 2', 2'... carries a conductor element 4' formed into an angled strap piece with which those bodies 2', 2'... are attachable via one limb of the angled piece to the transformer 5. Each second or alternate one of the other bodies 2'', 2'' carries a conductor element 4'' which is likewise formed into a strap piece but these elements are at an angle such as 90 DEG or 180 DEG to the mounting plane of the previous conductor elements 4' and are attachable to a DC current rail.
