PURPOSE:To easily handle an image without necessitating a special conversion processing by providing a sub-information recording means for recording sub- information for showing an image display mode related to image information in the mode capable of reproduction in accordance with the reproduction of this image information. CONSTITUTION:When writing in a frame memory is all finished, data is read out of the frame memory 6 by the control of a memory controller 5, a data conversion required for data compression is executed in a discrete cosine transformation circuit (DCT/1DCT) 7, and outputted to a coder/decoder 8. In a coder part of this coder/decoder 8, video data is subjected to compression processing, while referring to an auxiliary memory 9 in which various data and tables required for performing the compression processing are written. Thereafter, the compressed data passes through a data bus 20 and is written in an IC memory card 10 being an information recording means attached to an electronic still camera so as to be attachable and detachable. |
