A process for destroying the organic portion of a waste material is provided. The method utilizes a molten salt solution, and the destruction is achieved by contacting the waste with the molten salt. Apparatus for performing this process is also provided, and includes a molten salt bath, and several means for achieving the necessary contacting. A process utilizing a blend of alkaline and nitrate for destroying the organic portion of solid waste material is also provided, along with an apparatus for performing the same. |
