PURPOSE:To effectively prevent defective transfer and the deterioration of image quality caused by heat generated from a fixation part adjacent to the fixation part by providing a means for rotating a transfer drum at a print signal standby time. CONSTITUTION:After a transfer process of a transfer material supported on a transfer drum 1-1 is finished, the transfer material is separated from the drum 1-1 by a separation pawl 1-5, and then, it is carried to a fixation unit 1-8 provided with a pair of fixing rollers 1-7 so as to be fixed. In this case, the pair of rollers 1-7 is heated, so that some parts of the drum 1-1, especially a part near a part H shown by a hatching is locally heated by radiation heat, and then, the temperature rises. Then, the drum 1-1 is rotated even at the standby time. Thus, the part H drastically heated by the fixation unit 1-8 is gradually moved, so that the drum is prevented from being partially and locally overheated. Thus, thermal deformation caused by overheated, irregularities in an image caused by the sticking of mist are prevented, so that the satisfactory image can be always and stably obtained. |
