The device is designed for the easy and rapid mounting and dismounting of a pivoting chute (12) suspended in a rotary cage (14) which is mounted by means of bearings (16) in a housing (18). For this purpose, the cage (14) and the housing (18) possess removable parts (26) allowing the chute (12) to pass through for the purpose of mounting or dismounting it by means of a ramp (30) which is mounted on a platform (24) surrounding the head of the furnace (10) and supported by the latter and which has a carriage (34) which can slide along the said ramp (30) and which is equipped with means for fastening it to the chute (12).
