Described is a method of producing cellulose fibres with a decreased tendency to fibrillation, in which method a solution of cellulose in a tertiary-amine oxide is spun into fibres and freshly spun fibres brought into contact with a textile auxiliary carrying at least two reactive groups and then subjected to heat treatment, the method being characterized in that the heat treatment is carried out by irradiating the fibres with electromagnetic radiation.
