PURPOSE:To improve a KANJI/KANA mixed KANA/KANJI converting rate. CONSTITUTION:A KANJI/KANA mixed KANA/KANJI converting part 5 KANJI/KANA-mixed-KANA/KANJI converts a character string inputted to a converting use buffer 7 and stores the obtained conversion candidate in a conversion candidate buffer 11 by putting a priority order. An input KANJI investigating part 6 investigates KANJI with a KANJI notation input history at the character string of the converting use buffer 7. A KANJI notation learning part 12 compares the input character string within the converting use buffer 7 and a conversion candidate character string slected by an operator and stores KANJI inputted by KANJI notation in a KANJI bit map 14. A candidate KANJI investigating part 10 finds a conversion candidate including KANJI which is already stored in the KANJI bit map 14 within a candidate buffer 11 and informs it to a conversion candidate control part 9. When the notation of the conversion candidate including KANJI is HIRAGANA, the conversion candidate control part 9 controls the output priority order of the conversion candidate down.
