PURPOSE:To directly attach a process cartridge in a necessary minimum gap by projecting the projected part in a direction orthogonally crossed with the axial line of a photosensitive drum further than a frame on a cleaning means side provided along the axial line of the photosensitive drum. CONSTITUTION:A 2nd engaging part 15u being the projected part is arranged on the same side as a flange gear provided in the photosensitive drum. The 2nd engaging part 15u is projected in the direction orthogonally crossed with the axial line of the photosensitive drum (the direction of a leading edge in the case of attaching a process cartridge B to a device main body) further than a lower frame on the cleaning means side provided along the axial line of the photosensitive drum. The engaging part 15u is like a plate and a tapered part 15u1 is provided at the lower part of the engaging part 15u. Furthermore, the engaging part 15u is projected more downward than the lower surface of the lower frame on the cleaning means side. Therefore, the process cartridge B is smoothly inserted while it is guided by guide parts 2a and 2b and positioned to be loaded.
