PURPOSE:To reduce dissipation power by converting a noted pixel into a white pixel, and performing recording when the noted pixel and all of a plurality of specified pixels around the noted pixel are detected to be black pixels in a device, wherein an image is recorded as an assembly of white and black pixels. CONSTITUTION:In a facsimile apparatus, a picture signal, which is obtained by accepting the voice-band signal on a circuit through an NCU 107, is demodulated with a modem 106. The signal is inputted into a coding/composite forming part 111 through a buffer memory 112. After the composite formation, the result is accumulated in a picture memory 110. Then, the picture data required in a picture processing part are outputted in a line unit in accordance with the control of a CPU 113. Whether the noted pixel is made to be the black pixel or the white pixel is determined based on the picture data of the noted pixel and the pixels within the rectangular region of two upper and lower dots and two right and left dots around the noted pixel. When it is detected that the rectangular region has all black pixels, the noted pixel is converted into the white pixel and recorded. The black pixels are developed in this way, and the dissipation power is reduced. |
