PURPOSE:To provide an agent for the treatment of osteoporosis, containing a combination of a progesterone and an antiestrogenic substance as active components, exhibiting excellent ossification promoting action by the combined use of the above compounds and having high safety. CONSTITUTION:The agent for the treatment of osteoporosis contains a proper combination of one or more progesterones and one or more antiestrogenic substances as active components. The weight ratio of the antiestrogenic substance to the progesterone is preferably about 1/(1,000-10). The progesterone is preferably a compound having pregnane skeleton such as progesterone, medroxyprogesterone, chlormadinone, megesterol, gestonorone and hydroxyprogesterone from the viewpoint of low toxicity. The antiestrogenic substance is preferably triphenylethylene derivative, etc., such as tamoxifen and clomiphene in view of low toxicity. |
