PURPOSE:To provide a bearing sliding material which makes reduction of sliding loss between a shaft and a bearing possible. CONSTITUTION:The sliding material is a grease impregnated porous sintered metal and first the sintered metal bearing sliding surface is covered with a grease film by pump effect when a shaft 1 makes one rotation, after which a base oil film 4 of low viscosity is formed on its top surface. The base oil 4 is surely held without leaking from the sintered metal, though it is of low viscosity, by synergism of capillary effect in a gap between sintered metal particles 2 and oil holding effect of a thickening agent 3. Thus reduction of sliding loss, which is greatly depended upon the oil film viscosity in the sliding area, is realized. |
