PURPOSE:To realize high quality print by providing an electrifying member which, before the emission of fade light, applies an AC voltage which is biased on the side of the same polarity as toner, thereby decreasing scattering of toner around a toner image. CONSTITUTION:A corotron 6 to which an AC voltage is applied produces positive and negative coronas. The positive corona is attracted to a high-negative polarity area on a photosensitive body 1, and the negative corana to a high- positive polarity area, so that electrical neutralization takes place. Therefore, because the negative polarity is high on a toner image, the positive corona is attracted to neutralize charges, and repulsion becomes weak, so that scattering of toner around the toner image decreases. Here, in order to increase the amount of corona of the same polarity as toner, an alternating current in which biases are superimposed on side of the same polarity as toner is applied to the corotron 6 by an AC voltage power source 7. |
