PURPOSE:To obtain a coating composition useful for the formation of the backing layer of a wax-type thermal transfer material or a sublimation-type thermal transfer material. CONSTITUTION:This coating material for forming the backing layer of a thermal recording material is prepared by adding a resin free of free isocyanate groups and having hydrolyzable silyl groups, the resin being a reactional product among a polysiloxane compound having organic functional groups, a silane coupling agent having organic functional groups and an organic polyisocyanate, to a liquid medium. |
