<p>PURPOSE: To allow a more precise and easy manufacture of a sintered porous steroid platinate eluting electrode in a medical lead for long term implantation. CONSTITUTION: A mounting portion 24 formed at the distal end of a conductive substrate 23 is put into a mixture slurry containing at least one conductor and then pulled out to cover the mounting portion 24 with a film of the mixture slurry. This portion is sintered. The mounting portion 24 is formed from the distal end of the substrate 23 by thermal or mechanical deformation. Silver, platinum, titanium, tantalum, rhodium, iridium, carbon, vitrified carbon and their alloys, oxides and metal nitrides are used in the substrate 23. The mounting portion 24 is in the shape of a nailhead, a ring, a block or the head of a cotton-wool swab.</p> |
