PURPOSE:To achieve guidance without making the crew a sense of incongruity even when a vehicle travels to a starting point from the designation in the opposite direction by setting an intersection approach judging area, a passage judging area and the like at each intersection on a planned traveling route. CONSTITUTION:Various area for providing information to an operator to the effect are set when a vehicle is passing a registered intersection Pi by a guidance initialization processing. The areas an access judging circle Vi, an approach judging area Wi, a passage judging circle Xi, a route deviation judging circle Yi and a route deviation judging direction Ai. When the vehicle enters the approach judging area Wi, information on the ongoing direction thereof is provided by an approach information means. When the vehicle enters the passage judging circle Pi, a passage information means provide information to the effect that the vehicle is passing an intersection. After the information on the passage at the intersection is provided, when the vehicle enters the approach judging area Wi at the intersection, a forbidding means forbids the informing operation of the ongoing direction by the approach information means. Information on the passing condition alone is provided when traveling is made from the destination to the side of a starting point in the opposite direction. |
