The present invention relates to a process for manufacturing optically read disks and/or master disks for the manufacture of optically read disks. It also relates to the support ready for the recording of information as well as the optically read disk, the master disk and the pressing matrix which are obtained by this process. According to this process, a photosensitive resin layer (3) is deposited on one face (1) of a support (2) and is itself covered with a layer of an opaque material (10), while a layer of a filtering material (12) is deposited on the opposite face (11) from the face (1) of the support (2). The information to be duplicated is recorded in the layer of opaque material (10) by means of radiation (13) which transforms certain areas of the opaque layer (10) into a transparent material. The information is next transferred into the photosensitive resin layer (3) by means of radiation (4). The layer of opaque material (10), the layer of filtering material (12) as well as the irradiated areas of the photosensitive resin layer (3) are eliminated. The support thus clad with areas of photosensitive resin (3) is next covered either with a layer of a reflecting material (5) so as to yield an optically read disk, or with a layer of a conductive material (7) so as to yield a master disk (8) which through a subsequent electroplating step will make it possible to obtain a pressing matrix (9) for optically read disks.
