PURPOSE:To provide an inverter which facilitates power control even if an output voltage supplied to a load is lower than a power supply voltage such as in the case of a short circuit of load, and further, has a simple circuit construction and is suitable for size reduction. CONSTITUTION:A switching circuit Sa which turns on and off a current from a DC power supply Vs with a high frequency, an inductance element Ln in which an energy is stored by the current from the DC power supply Vs while the switching circuit Sa is in a conducting state, a load circuit Z through which the energy stored in the inductance element Ln is discharged while the switching circuit Sa is in a non-conducting state and a switching circuit Sb which reverses the polarity of a current flowing through the load circuit Z alternately with a frequency sufficiently lower than the cut-off frequency of the switching circuit Sa are provided. |
