PURPOSE:To obtain a charging method of a packet exchange device, by which a precise charging collection processing can be continued without interrupting the charging collection processing during a processing when a fault occurs in a present-use charging processing processor. CONSTITUTION:An accumulation management information 61 for managing charging information stored in a common file is stored in the common file 60 and it is updated whenever charging information is transmitted to a network management device. The charging processing processor 30b which newly becomes present-use in accordance with the occurrence of the fault reads the accumulation management information 61 prior to the processing and executes the charging collection processing based on the information.
