PURPOSE:To obtain the image forming device provided with an edit function in which an upper/lower part of an original picture and the longitudinal/lateral direction of an original sentences are rearranged so that plural original pictures are printed out on one sheet. CONSTITUTION:Originals are carried one by one to a platen glass by an automatic document feeder and a read system reads the original to form digital picture data. The picture data are transferred to a memory unit 30. The memory unit 30 is controlled by a CPU 3 and is made up of a picture memory 31, a sentence direction recognition section 32, a RAM 33 generating a management table, an original direction (upper part/lower part) recognition section 34, a rotation processing section 35, and a code memory 37 or the like. The arrangement of the picture in the 2in1 or 4in1 mode is decided based on the result of recognition of the upper/lower part of the original and the longitudinal/lateral direction of a sentence included in the picture. |
